Position Summary:
The commission-only salesperson will be responsible for generating sales for in-home care services and assisted living placements by calling on local businesses, healthcare facilities, physicians, clinics, and eldercare facilities. The ideal candidate will establish and maintain customer relationships, provide high-quality customer service, and meet or exceed sales targets. The role requires proactive community engagement and collaboration with internal teams to ensure continuity of care and successful marketing initiatives.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales and Relationship Management:
- Call on local businesses, healthcare facilities, physicians, clinics, and eldercare facilities.
- Establish and maintain customer relationships, providing exceptional customer service.
- Meet or exceed established sales targets.
2. Community Engagement:
- Conduct presentations and/or staff in-services to community groups and professional staff.
- Participate in health fairs, awareness days, networking groups, and meetings.
- Join and attend area networking and chamber groups.
- Seek, develop, and participate in marketing opportunities within the community.
3. Collaboration:
- Establish working rapport with healthcare professionals in the territory.
- Collaborate with the Care Coordinator to ensure continuity of care and assist in developing care plans.
- Work with the Event Marketing Director to assist in developing marketing plans.
4. Sales Strategy and Reporting:
- Develop strategies and goals for more effective sales closing and share insights with the team.
- Monitor program growth through tracking marketing success.
- Provide complete and concise activity reports to management.
5. Administrative Duties:
- Perform required data entry within the company data system.
- Handle inquiries professionally, providing appropriate information regarding the facility.
- Follow up with residents and families who are moving in or starting services.
- Maintain and update the client list and census daily.
- Attend management meetings daily, weekly, and on-call as needed.
- Coordinate and document admissions, ensuring all requirements are met.
- Monitor and track all inquiries.
6. Marketing and Public Relations:
- Monitor competitor activities regarding marketing, community involvement, and services provided.
- Coordinate public events, both in and out of the facility.
- Notify residents’ families and the public of essential information regarding changes.
- Participate in public, civic, and association events, particularly those involving the geriatric population.
- Create a positive community image for the facility.
- Provide support and information to administration regarding handling media inquiries.
Qualifications:
- Skills and Abilities:
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, multi-tasking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to learn company-specific software.
- Strong telephone communication, organizational, and creative writing skills.
- Knowledge of healthcare settings (both in-home and institutional) and medical terminology related to the senior population and rehabilitative care.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and insurance.
- Willingness to obtain certifications related to Health and Safety programs within the first 6 months of hire.
- Basic office and typing skills.
- Group presentation skills.
- Ability to close sales and ask for business.
- Experience in providing exceptional customer service and establishing customer relationships.
Performance Expectations:
- Tracking and Monitoring:
- Responsible for monitoring and tracking daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual census outcomes.
- Ensure the client list is updated and communicated regularly.
- Conduct facility tours, highlighting survey history, staffing ratios, and outcomes.
Teamwork:
- Embrace new ideas and work collaboratively as part of a team aiming for excellence.
- Assume authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for the sales department's success.
Public Engagement:
- Actively engage in public relations to promote the facility.
- Coordinate welcoming processes for new residents and families with the Hospitality Coordinator.
- Develop and maintain relationships with referral sources, such as hospital discharge planners and home health agencies.
Working Conditions:
- This position requires travel within the territory to meet with clients and referral sources.
- Must be available to attend events and meetings, sometimes outside of regular business hours.
- Participate in daily and weekly management meetings, as well as on-call duties as needed.
